is it okay for teens to wear a garter belt?
im 16 years old. and i've always had such a cute outfit planned out. the outfit is a leather mini skirt that goes up to the waist with a purple v neck and a garter belt with stockings and heeels. is it appropriate if i wear it?
or leather boots. heels are tooo hookery if i wear my garter belt. the suspenders show
I think it's ok, but like some of the other posters said, it really should be your secret and not on display for the world. That will just send a perception that I doubt you really want.

Forget the all-black leather-jacket-and-jeans style. Forget clean-cut good lucks, dapper business suits and trench coats. The new look in Berlin for young men is tight-fitting T-shirts with cute heart motifs.
While the rest of the German capital gets down to business and into politics, a new sort of man - actually a big boy - is getting into some serious play.
"We want to have fun and are ready to take over the world," explains hip young designer Joerg Pfefferkorn, originally from the Baltic port of Rostock.
What sort of man is he designing clothes for? He calls them "Boylies": extroverted, energetic boys wearing exaggerated, eccentric clothes.
These boys are confident, sensual, playful, have a positive attitude to life and a rebellious streak. The sort of man that Pfefferkorn pictures is supposed to combine strength and vulnerability.
His call for "Boylies" comes in reaction to the phenomenon of "Girlies", wild young women in retro-chic with boots who throw caution - and doctrinaire feminism - to the wind.
They even call themselves "M dchen" - little girls - on a controversial record, much to the chagrin of older feminists who insist that anyone past 16 should call herself and be addressed as "Frau" - a woman.
Your average guy in jeans and sweater was no match for these wild girls in mini-skirts and tights, lycra and leather, so Pfefferkorn got cracking.
The resourceful designer stitched up blankets discarded by the German airline Lufthansa into men's skirts.
He gets much of his inspiration and his raw materials from flea markets. Pfefferkorn turned old curtains into sweaters and teamed them with shiny silver trousers made of parachute silk.
Cardboard detergent boxes-cum-rucksacks are a "Boylie" must-have accesory to be worn with clingy latex fetish micro T-shirts bearing the message "I'm hers".
Not exactly officewear. But it would appear to be just the thing for Pfefferkorn's clients - largely techno go-go boys.
"People think it is quite normal for me to turn up at my favourite club in a skirt and shoes with 25-centimetre heels," he says.
Fashion for this new sort of New Man should be not only remarkable, but also practical and affordable, according to the designer.
Pfefferkorn and two assistants currently produce only one-offs. But demand for his "Boylie Style" is rising.
"I work 14 hours a day, rush from one fashion show to another," says the self-professed "fashion addict", whose clothes have been very successful at Berlin's numerous "off-fashion" shows.
Taking his recycling theme a step further, the designer has his eye on the special wire-based fabric with which Bulgarian-born artist Christo will wrap the Reichtstag parliament building this spring.
"I wish I could get my hands on 50 metres of that wonderful wire mesh fabric," Pfefferkorn sighs.
