Leather Jacket Care Advice?
Hello
I have a good quality leather jacket. The leather is nice and soft. However over time the lapels have started to turn out. By this I mean that when I bought the jacket the lapel creases were nice and sharp and the lapels lay nice and flat against the front of the jacket. Now though the creases have softened and the lapel is turning out so that the inside of the jacket is now on display. I bough the jacket because it looked neat and sharp but now it looks scruffy.
I have had leather jackets that this has happened with before but they were much cheaper so I didnt expect too much but this jacket was pricey.
I took it to a tailor and he said that the leather had dried out and that is why is why it was happening. I have conditioned it and repressed the lapel but it still wont lie flat. Can anyone suggest how I fix this or do I just have a funny body shape causing this?
I see other people wearing similar jackets to mine and they look much sharper. I am pretty frustrated with mine,
And probably the most important advice of all,
"Boy, you be sure you got on clean underwear, in case you're in an accident".
