is this car a good deal or is it a bad idea? i heard acuras are good even if they are old?
1998 Acura 1.6 EL 4-door Sedan. Green. Black leather interior. Heated front seats. Automatic Transmission. Air. Power sunroof. Power windows. Clarion deck and speakers.
Issues: Crack across bottom of front windshield. Gas door doesn't close properly. Scuffed rear bumper (driver side). Some rust. "Check engine" light is on.
According to last service, should have new distributor, timing belt, accessory belt, water pump, cam and crank seals, front and rear stabilizer links and bushings, and air filter.
Despite the work needed, still runs pretty well. Would also be a good "parts" car.
Price is $1,000. You pay for the safety.
Machines of all kinds are only as good as the care they receive. Assuming something is good or bad just because of the manufacture is a good way to get ripped off.
The check engine light could be something minor or it could be something major. Get it checked out before you spend another $1,000 fixing something if its a major problem.
