How will the following transactions affect the balance of payments account of the U.S.?
a.an American tourist purchasing leather goods in Italy.
b.an American resident purchasing stock of a German company from a broker located in Germany.
c.the U.S. government sending relief payments to a developing nation.
d.an U S. resident receiving dividend payments from stock of a company located abroad.
e.a manufacturing company repaying the principal on debt borrowed from an overseas lender.
only "C" will affect the US account balance. The others are all private transactions not involving government. Sending out money will require america to debit her account.
